Community is more separate with no real equivalent of Warcraft Conquest or Coalition from MG (and MG Horde respectively.) My recommendation for switching servers is to find the group you want to play with and only swap if you really want to or if it is ...Having everyone on a realm be your faction means ALOT more players. Whereas the 50/50 split could make a big realm feel like a low pop one. I'm not sure of the status of the big pvp realms but I'm pretty sure the top ones like sargeras, Illidan and tichondrius are all weighted one way or the other as well.(again pvpers can chime in here).
