I've had a Shield 9mm for about 3 years and a P365 for less than a month. The P365's felt recoil is less, the slide is much easier to rack, it's slightly smaller and lighter, has a better trigger than a stock Shield and it's more accurate in my hands at 7 yards. The P365 is fully cocked when the slide is racked. The sear drops straight down into the chassis to release the striker. Pretty easy to see when your slide is off the gun. Glocks are partially cocked when racked. The trigger pull fully cocks and releases the striker. The first, BOD 03-23-18, after 1000 flawless rounds, measures right at 6#. The second, BOD 05-31-18, after 600 flawless rounds, measures closer to 6.5-7.0#. You dont need to change any springs or barrels just drop it into the XL grip module. There are many videos on youtube on how to change the module. I swoped from an original p365 to XL wilson combat grip module. Best decision i have made. Rich Jenkins. Yes, the Sig P365X from Sig with the optic cut already is a direct fit to your P365 (Direct fit = field strip, place barrel and RSA from P365 into P365X slide, reassemble.) Based on the limitations you stated (no milling, no aftermarket parts, retain original) I'm not sure I can think of any other option to get an optic.The standard P365 will offer the best concealability and you can still use 12-round mags. However the longer frame on the P365 will make for a better shooter. Even with the 12-round extended mag in a std P365 I find I can handle and shoot the P365X better.
